The Quick And Effective Way To Cope With Statistics Homework

First off, let me start by saying that there is not just one way – a simple one and done, if you will – of coping with statistics homework. Nothing is that simple. And even if it was, statistics homework is most definitely not simple, so it would not fall in the one-and-done category. But let me continue by saying that you can cope with statistics homework in much the same way that you would cope with any other type of homework. For instance:

  • Breathe. Seriously. Just Breathe. Feeling overwhelmed? Step away, and just breathe. Give yourself a break. Go outside. Read a poem. Watch an episode of your favorite show. And then get back to work. You’ll be amazed at how much easier things seem to click into place once you’ve let yourself relax for just a little while.

  • Eat. You think I’m joking? Well, guess what—I most certainly am not. I can’t tell you how many times I have gotten caught up in an assignment and completely forgotten to eat. I don’t mean that I skipped a single meal. I completely forgot to eat. As in, all day. And that does not work, for obvious reasons. Your body and your brain need sustenance if they’re going to keep functioning properly. So give it to them. Keep easy to prepare foods around, and set alarms if you have to. Just make sure that you eat.

  • Sleep. Now you really think I’m being ridiculous, don’t you? Breathe, eat, and sleep? Please, get serious. Yeah, I am completely serious. And this one is maybe the most important one on the list (aside from breathing - seriously, don’t stop breathing. Nothing good comes of it). If you think your brain starts to go on the loopy side when you don’t eat, you should see it when you don’t sleep. But let’s be honest here, if you’re taking statistics, then you already know that. But still, let me tell you a short story. In one of my programming classes I left a final project until the last minute, and I ended up working for more than 24 hours straight on it. With no sleep. Had I slept, I would have caught at least a few of the many, many bugs in it. And there were MANY.

So what is a quick and effective way to cope with statistics homework (or any other stress-inducing subject)? Just remember the basics: Breathe, Eat, and Sleep. Oh, and study. Don’t forget that one! I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised what a difference these “basics” can make. Good luck! And don’t worry, you’ve got this.
